Kid to Kid Owners Enjoy Like-Minded Network
Kid to Kid stands out as a community-oriented network of owners who share a love for retail, helping families and giving back
One of the many perks of joining a franchise network is plugging into the collective knowledge of fellow owners, as well as the sense of community shared by like-minded entrepreneurs. Although Kid to Kid children’s resale clothing business owners all come from different backgrounds, they all share a passion for helping families and supporting their local communities.
Founded in 1992, Kid to Kid buys and sells the best clothing items that kids outgrow, attracting consumers from all economic levels. With the skyrocketing growth of the resale clothing industry and a proven business model, our iconic children’s resale clothing franchise stands out as an investment opportunity. It’s no wonder so many existing franchise owners are making plans to invest in additional Kid to Kid locations.
“I love Kid to Kid because it does good for the community, the environment, the owner and the team,” says board member and multi-unit owner Chelsea Sloan Carroll.
“For someone who is passionate about kids and kids stuff, and wants to work for themselves, I think that a Kid to Kid franchise is a really solid investment,” adds Sloan, who also plans to open two additional locations this year.
Kid to Kid franchisees share a culture of giving back to their local communities
Kid to Kid was founded by the same family that still runs it today — and franchisees that join the system share several like-minded attributes: a desire to help families, support the community, and improve the environment.
In times of economic uncertainty, families look for ways to save money. While clothing children is one of the biggest expenses related to raising kids, shopping resale significantly reduces the costs. Kid to Kid offers money for gently-used items, which gives cash back to families. We offer a place to shop for the latest fashion inexpensively and sustainably. The fast-fashion industry is one of the largest polluters on the planet. It’s not a coincidence that resale is growing at a much faster rate than fast-fashion overall.
The relationship between our franchise owners and their customers is what makes our brand truly special. It’s why our franchise owners are respected as community pillars for what they bring to their local economy.
“There are a lot of happy, appreciative customers that come into my Kid to Kid store every day,” says Amy Gustin, Kid to Kid owner. “It’s very heartwarming to know that we are making a difference for people within the community. I take a lot of pride in the store, and in making it the best I can make it. We keep it clean and organized, and it has an upscale feel. I want people to feel good about shopping with us and to want to come back – and they do.”
We also empower owners to donate to charities in their local communities. The clothes they don’t accept from customers can be donated to a charity of the franchise owners’ choice.
“We clothed six children last year after a local family lost everything in a fire,” says Kelli Purser, owner of a Kid to Kid store in Utah. “We let them come in, get winter clothes, boots, coats and toys. It made everyone so happy, and it’s such a privilege that we’re able to do that. This business is all about community, about helping each other. That’s what I love most about it.”
